Radio Hoyer in 1984 made history by becoming the first commercial radio station in the world to transmit on the FM band, operating entirely on solar energy. Radio Hoyer’s FM transmitting tower is Located on top of Tafelberg, the highest hill on the eastern part of Curaçao. The power source for the transmitters, 100% solar electricity, is what makes the Radio Hoyer FM project especially unique.
